Welcome!
We began our adventure of Elk ranching in Alaska several years ago. Coming from the midwest, we spent more than a little time contemplating owning a ranch, waiting for the right circumstance. Our persistent efforts led us to the perfect place and time.
The Northern Lights Elk Ranch of Alaska.
We are Paul & Meg Cook, proud owners, working with our daughter Casey, our son in law, Ben and grandson Ezra. Ben is a retired Alaskan wild land fire fighter (Hot Shot).
We work to maintain a herd of around 60 head of elk. We are the only elk ranch in Alaska which strives to increase the size of their bull elk through artificial insemination. We breed them to bulls scoring almost 500 points SCI.
The ranch is also recognized by the Great Land Trust for making safe salmon passage and spawning areas in the creeks that cross over the property.
The ranch has worked closely with the Alaska Nature Conservancy over the years to improve fish habitat.
